17 -- DIGITAL PRESSURE GAUGE- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION SOL N68335-97-RFI-702 DUE 010897 POC Barbara Petrzilka, Contract Specialist, Code 25222A (908) 323-2067. This is a Request for Information only. There is no solicitation package available. The United States Navy is requesting technical information on commercially available digital pressure gages which will accurately measure tire pressures on landing gear of military aircraft. This gage will be used on aircraft carrier flight decks and needs to be rugged and able to operate after it has been dropped or rough handled. The gage shall have the following characteristics and capabilities: Pressure Ranges: 0-500 psig; Overpressure: 2 x full scale without damage; Burst Pressure: 10 x full scale; Accuracy: +/- 1 psi; Electric Batteries: 9 volt. (Note: Lithium batteries are not acceptable, due to safety issues); Display: 4 digit LCD with a viewing light (indiglo, for example) so gage can be read in the dark: Storage Temperature: -40 degrees F to 160 degrees F; Operating Range: -40 degrees F to 160 degrees F; Calibration: All adjustments shall be made internally. No external hardware since it produces a potential foreign object damage hazard; Construction: Heavy duty, rigid, needs to survive drops and rough handling. Gage must be able to operate when subjected to Electromagnetic Interference.
