20375-5326 66 -- FOURIER TRANSFORM SPECTROMETER SOL N00014-97-R-JJ01 POC Barbara
A. Johnson, Contract Specialist, Code 3220.JJ, Contracting Officer,
Kevin M. King, (202) 767-2550. The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL)
requires a Fourier Transform Spectrometer capable of operating in the
step-scan mode to measure infrared spectra with 5 nanosecond temporal
resolution (single beam mode) for kinetic studies of conformational
changes in liquid protein samples. These samples must be maintained at
a precise temperature and slowly flowed. Continuous coverage of the
temporal range from 5 nanoseconds to seconds is required with step-scan
and rapid scan capability. The wavelength range must extend from 7500
to 370 wave numbers with a wave number resolution of 0.25 or better.
The signal to noise ratio must be sufficient to measure changes in
optical density of at least 0.001 in the 1600 wave numbers region of
the spectrum with 10 nanosecond temporal resolution. It must be
computer controlled (IBM equivalent, 166 MHz or faster) and interfaced
with an analog to digital converter of 16 bit -200 kHz or better.
Brand Name or equal OPUS/IR extended analytical software to deconvolute
numerous infrared bands overlapped in this region of the spectrum must
be included. There must be an external trigger capability to
synchronize the collection of the infrared spectrum with an external
laser trigger. No telephone requests for this requirement will be
accepted. Send requests for Solicitation N00014-97-R-JJ01 to:
