Title and number of pages of the notified document: Proposal for a Council Directive Relating to Certain Partly or Wholly Dehydrated Preserved Milk for Human Consumption (5 pages, available in 11 languages). 6. Description of content: The Proposal is based on a structure, consisting of an operative part followed by an Annex. The operative part contains, inter alia, provisions on the scope of the proposal and labelling requirements. The Annex contains the definitions and designations of the products in question and details of their composition. 7. Objective and rationale: The objective of this Proposal for a Directive is to define certain products, to provide for appropriate designations and to lay down common rules on composition, manufacturing methods, and labelling so that these products can move freely within the European Community. This Proposal simplifies the existing Directives applicable to the products in question. 8. Relevant documents: OJEC C231 of 9 August 1996. 9.
