Elizondo,81 7/978-3508 This is a notice of intent to prequalify contractors desiring to be placed on a prequalified offerors/bidders list for a period of two (2) years from notice of prequalification for the construction of United States Marshals Service Projects located in various Federal Buildings and U. S. Courthouses in the Greater Southwest Region, including Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Arkansas and Oklahoma. These projects require Level 6/Maximum Security detention construction and include, but are not limited to, the construction of Level 6/Maximum Security detention holding cells, isolation cells, courtroom cells, prisoner sallyport, prisoner processing/ fingerprinting area, prisoner/attorney interview rooms, communications rooms, special fitness training areas, locker rooms/showers/toilets, vaults, secure storage rooms, and general office space. Planned construction costs for each project could range from $50,000 to $2,000,000. Projects are currently planned for the following localities: Tyler, Fort Worth, Lubbock, Amarillo, Galveston, Austin, Beaumont, and Las Cruces. Planned construction dates are unknown at this time. Primary factors that will be considered during evaluation of contractors will be past performance/experience on Level 6/Maximum Security construction, financial stability, capacity, references, and previous clients. Those firms meeting the requirements will be included on the list. Applications will be evaluated by the Contracting Officers and the Project Managers on the U. S. Marshals Service Team for the Greater Southwest Region, and all firms will be advised within 30 days from receipt of the completed package as to prequalification status. In order to be evaluated for this list, all forms in the Prequalification Package must be filled out completely and returned to this office by December 13, 1996. Faxed copies of the package are acceptable. The firms meeting the qualification requirements will be placed on the prequalified list and will be advised of procurements under the U. S. Marshals Service Program. Interested firms that meet the criteria of past performance/experience with Level 6/ Maximum Security detention construction may obtain a Prequalification Package from Jan Elizondo, Contracting Officer, at (817)978-3508, or Kathey Green, Contracting Officer, at (817)978-7349. Facsimile requests for the package may be faxed to the attention of either of the above Contracting Officers at (817)978-6155. Prequalification submittals will not be returned. This is not a request for proposal. Once the initial list is established, additional qualified contractors may be added to the list as procurements are announced, provided they have submitted a properly and fully completed prequalification package a minimum of fourteen (14) days prior to the date for bid or proposal opening, and that they have been determined to be acceptable by the Contacting Officer. The Contracting Officer shall not consider any proposal from a contractor who has not timely submitted a prequalification package or is not listed on the list of prequalified bidders. (0331)
