the labor, equipment, and materials to rehabilitate an existing paint
shop in Building 4760 -- The work will include replacement of the
existing paint booth; modifications to the existing heating,
air-conditioning and ventilation (HVAC) system; replacement of asbestos
panel with new insulated aluminum panels on the west side of the
building and involving the dismantling and re-installation of four
existing exhaust stacks; installation of new explosion proof lighting
system for the new paint booth; drain, clean, and seal the water filter
sumps; replace metal gratings over water sump; miscellaneous painting,
related mechanical and electrical work -- Worksite is the George C.
Marshall Space Flight Center, AL -- The standard industrial
classification code for this procurement is (1541) -- Period of
performance is 240 calendar days -- Estimated price range is between
$500,000 and $1,000,000.00 -- Firms responding to this ad will be
provided the solicitation package with drawings and specifications --
No solicitation packages will be issued 10 days prior to scheduled bid
opening -- Bid packages containing specifications and drawings are
available at the non-refundable cost of $50.00 -- Payment must
accompany the request and be made only in the form of a certified check
or money order -- Money orders or certified checks should be made
payable to ''NASA Cashier MSFC,'' and should be marked with the IFB
number - - Personal and company checks are not acceptable -- The bid
opening date will be contained in the solicitation -- All requests for
the solicitation package must be in writing -- This is a Small
Business Set-Aside -- An ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns
from bidders, potential bidders, and contractors during the preaward
and postaward phases of this acquisition -- The purpose of the
ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the contracting officer
or the selection official, but to communicate concerns, issues,
disagreements, and recommendations of interested parties to the
appropriate Government personnel and to work to resolve them -- When
requested, the ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the
source of the concern -- The ombudsman does not participate in the
evaluation of bidders, the source selection process, or the
adjudication of formal contract disputes -- Interested parties are
