Army ARDEC, in support of PM Small Arms, is seeking sources for an off the shelf, 0-800 meter iron sight for M4 Carbines and M16A2 Rifles modified with a flat top upper receiver. This item must meet Department of the Army guidelines for Non-Developmental Items (NDI). Of particular interest are sights which occupy as little area and as few rail cross slots as possible. It must not be detachable by the rifleman and should be attachable using implements in a unit armorer's tool kit. The iron sight shall attach to the rear of the upper receiver rail only and must fold over rearward in order to allow the attachment of other sighting devices to the upper receiver rail.
