The Coastal Systems Station, Dahgren Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, intends to solicit proposals for the production of underwater (fresh/sea water) cables with molded on connectors and for additional connectors. These cables carry power, signal, and data. All cables and connectors must be built and tested in strict accordance with the government drawings and test procedures. Prior approval will be required for any deviation(s) from these requirements. Some of the cables have Brantner Mini-Con (tm) connectors used on them, and some of the connectors that must be supplied are also Brantner Mini-Con (tm) connectors. Substitution of other connectors for the Brantner Mini-Con (tm) connectors specified on the drawings is not authorized. The government will furnish the cable to be used for fabrication of certain of the cable assemblies. There are approximately 155 cables and 54 connectors to be manufactured. There will be two (2) delivery periods for the cables and connectors. Initial delivery of cables will be required 8 weeks after award of contract and final delivery will be 24 months after award. There are approximately 83 option quantities that will be included for some of the cables/connectors. Delivery of option quantities will be 16 weeks after exercise of option.
