The Carderock Division Naval Surface Warfare Center intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with R.G.Rollins for three Solo II engine control cable systems for the port and stbd main engines and the anchor engine. Systems are to be installed on Landing Craft Utility's located at the Naval Amphibious Base, Coronado,Ca. The Solo II engine control cables to be installed are a unique ball bearing design that are effective on long cable runs such as required on the LCU boats. The Solo ball bearing cables are designed to prevent ball migration and loss motion within the cable assemblies. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency needs under the authority of FAR 6.302.1. Anticipated award is on or about 12/19/96. See Numbered Note(s): 22.
