The Library of Congress has a requirement for a contractor to fabricate, finish, and install Custom Architectural Woodwork (eight bookcases), replicated to match existing bookcases in the First Floor Northwest Curtain of the Library's Thomas Jefferson Building, Washington, D.C. Required measurements for the completed bookcases are: Seven (7) bookcases measuring 12 feet 6 inches wide by 1 foot 9 inches deep by 8 feet 5 inches high; one (1) bookcase measuring 9 feet wide by 1 foot 9 inches deep by 8 feet 5 inches high. Drawings to be furnished with the solicitation. The ''Quality Standards'' of the Architectural Woodwork Institute shall apply, with all items to be premium grade as defined in the latest edition of those standards. Complete installation target date is April 30, 1997. The Library will conduct a preproposal conference in the Thomas Jefferson Building to allow interested firms to inspect the existing bookcase and the installation site (date and time to be announced in the solicitation).
