94550 A -- LAWRENCE LIVERMORE NATIONAL LABORATORY SEEKS PARTNERSHIPS WITH
INDUSTRY TO COMMERCIALIZE MICROFABRICATED ACTUATOR AND RELEASE
MECHANISMS Announcement: The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
(LLNL), operated by the University of California under contract with
the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), is seeking industry partners who
wish to license and fund further development of microfabricated
actuator and release technologies at LLNL. These technologies may be
used in catheter-based interventional therapies, including delivery of
thrombogenic material to aneurysms and also may have a variety of
non-medical applications. Funding of LLNL's development efforts by an
industrial partner is expected to be provided through a funds-in
Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA), which will
offer the participating company an opportunity to license technologies
developed during the CRADA. All research and development projects are
conducted under strict policies governing nondisclosure of company
proprietary information. Note: This is not a procurement. Companies
interested in entering into a funds-in CRADA and license agreement for
microfabricated actuator and release technologies should provide a
written description of corporate capability and experience relevant to
such technologies and a sketch plan for incorporating the technologies
into current or planned products. Please do not exceed two pages.
Statements of interest should be sent to: Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory, Industrial Partnerships and Commercialization Office, PO
Box 808, L-795, Livermore, CA 94551, Attn: CBD97-001. This announcement
will be valid for 30 days from the date of publication. (330) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0021 19961129\A-0021.SOL)
