The Federal Aviation Administration, Great Lakes Region, has a requirement for the following renovations/additions at the Indianapolis Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC), Indianapolis, Indiana: Part A: The Display System Replacement (DSR) area modification consists of renovation of the west end of the Control Wing First Floor, Attic area and the Observation Bridge, conversion of the west portion of the Automation Wing First Floor into the Critical Power Center and renovation of the Automation Wing Second Floor Stairway ''B''. Part B: Rehabilitation of the Automation Wing First Floor, Basement and Host areas. Part C: Construction of the 30' x 66' Control Room Extension (CRE) including concrete slab, foundations, exterior wall with metal panels and interior metal liner. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to: Demolition of existing concrete raised floor system, concrete pavement, curb, gutter, sidewalk, doors, sound absorbing panels, carpeting, walls, ceiling systems, demountable partition walls, interior glass windows, metal grating, mechanical air handling systems and electrical systems. Construction of semipermanent wall, platform and dustproof partition for the removal of asbestos fireproofing overspray, floor tile with associated mastic, limpet on lath acoustical finish, cementitious wallboard, metal lath walls, pipe insulation fittings, and other asbestos containing/contaminated materials. Installation of new raised floor system, walls, doors, frames, interior glass windows, temporary wall and door, new sound absorbing panels, acoustical tile ceiling system and baffles, finishes, fireproofing, partitions, attic walkway, platform structural steel framing, plumbing, mechanical air handling systems, humidification system, vacuum and fire detection systems, electrical distribution systems, lighting fixtures, HVAC ductwork, supply and return grilles, electrical panels, vacuum system smoke and thermal detectors, sprinkler systems, outdoor lightning protection systems, receptacles and grounding applications. Removal of exterior wall assembly, parapet and roof. Construction of concrete pavement, sidewalk, curb and gutter. The estimated procurement value is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The period of performance is 480 calendar days. The SIC code for this project is 1542. The FAA will send a qualified vendor application to those contractors who are interested in qualifying as a vendor on this and other similar projects. The application will be utilized in determing the firms most qualified to perform on this project and subsequently receive a Request for Offer. Contract award will be to the contractor offering the best value to the FAA.
