Sand will be obtained from a borrow area near the entrance of Tampa Bay, some 20 miles south of the project. Approximately two million cubic yards of material will be required. Environmental protection is an important part of this contract. The project also includes removal of a derelict reinforced concrete pier located at Clearwater Beach. Magnitude of construction is over $10,000,000. Pre-Solicitation Notice will be issued on or about 27 Nov 96.
