65 -- CARDIAC T RAPID ASSAY FOR TROPONIN T STAND-ALONE TEST BY BMC SOL 502-14-97 DUE 121696 POC Bernice Griffin, (318) 473-0010 ext 2240 or Carol Robertson ext 2234 This medical center intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Boehringer Mannheim Corporation, 9115 Hague Road, Indianapolis IN 46250-0457, for an estimated 270 Cardiac T Rapid Assay for Troponin T kits (10 tests per kit) and approx five (5) boxes Liquid Control Solution. BMC catalog numbers are 5740-100 and 5741-100, for use at this medical center laboratory for the period 1/1/97 through 9/27/97. Cardiac T Rapid Assay is a patented BMC product and is not available from any other known source at this time. This is a combined synopsis and RFP for commercial items prepared in accordance with the required format in Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 12.6, and supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This notice constitutes the only RFP that will be issued. RFP 502-14-97 is issued as a Request for Proposal and incorporates provisions and clauses that are currently in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 40. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code for this procurement is 5122, Drug and Drug Proprietaries. Boehringer Mannheim Corp (BMC) shall provide upon issuance of an order by VAMC ALexandria LA, any portion of the estimated 270 test kits, fob destination, within the premises of VAMC, Laboratory Service, Bldg 7, 2495 Shreveport Hwy, Alexandria, LA within 15 days following receipt of verbal or written order. Orders will be placed quarterly. This Cardiac T Rapid Assay for Troponin T is a stand-alone kit and is totally functional without any ancillary instrumentation. Longest available shelf life product is required (presently 12/98). This procurement will assure prompt and quality care for patients until the test becomes available on major laboratory equipment.
