908-532-5207. CANCELLATION. This action was originally publicized in
the CBD dated 11/08/96. Solicitation No. DAAB07-97-R-J530 for Thermal
Imaging Night Vision Devices has been canceled. The U.S. Army is
delaying the acquisition of the Thermal Imaging Omnibus program for
approximately ten months. A draft Request for Proposals will be issued
in approximately eight months. Hardware samples shall be submitted
with each proposal. Driver's Vision Enhancer (DVE) and Thermal Weapon
Sight (TWS) hardware samples shall be as production representative as
possible, and will be subjected to laboratory characterization and
field evaluation for the purpose of risk assessment. Laboratory
characterization shall consist of, but not limited to, minimum
resolvable temperature (MRT) and noise equivalent temperature
difference (NEDT) tests. DVE sample hardware shall be configured for
the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. DVE field evaluation shall consist of,
but not limited to, interface compatibility, HFE/MANPRINT evaluation,
and road tests. TWS sample hardware shall be configured in each of the
proposed designs (i.e., LWTS, MWTS, and/or HTWS). TWS field evaluation
shall consist of, but not limited to, weapon interface compatibility,
