RFP NIH-NIDR-11-97-6 on a sole-source basis to University of
Washington, Seattle, Washington 98195. The proposed four-year study
will determine whether exposure to mercury vapor from dental amalgam
selects for acquisition of mercury resistant bacteria, as well as for
bacteria that exhibit multi-drug resistance. The study will be
performed on the population of children enrolled in the University of
Washington/Casa Pia Children's Amalgam Trial. Negotiations will be
conducted on a sole-source basis under authority of 41 U.S. C. 253(c)
