The U.S. Postal Service is soliciting proposals for the replacement of the existing heating system and the addition of an air conditioning system at the Marietta OH Main Post Office, located at 275 Front St. The work includes but is not limited to, asbestos removal, removal and disposal of the existing boiler and piping, provide and install a new hot water boiler and piping and air conditioning, and related work. To be considered responsive the contractor/proposer must have a minimum of five (5) years as a contractor and previous experience on similar projects. Other requirements include the following: (1) Successful completion and favorable references for similar projects; (2) Financial stability. The proposals will be evaluated in the areas listed in descending order of importance: (1) cost/price, (2) previous experience, (3) references, and (4) financial stability. The award will be made on the offer determined to be in the best interest of the Postal Service. Project will be bid on the basis of a single prime contract. The estimated price range is between $400,000.00 and $500,000.00 with completion within 180 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Proposals are due by 4:00 p.m. on January 14, 1997.
