The U.S. Department of Energy intends to award a sole-source contract (DE-AC01-97AD33333) to Bell Atlantic for a continuation of (but not limited to), Intra LATA telecommunications services for the Department in the Washington D.C. LATA, No. 236. The LATA includes Washington, D.C. and portions of Maryland and Virginia. The services with the local Bell Atlantic tariffs covering Intra LATA services and include Centrex Service (other than GSA) for 730 Jackson Place N.W., Washington, D.C., Centrex Service Billing, Direct-In-Dial (DID) service, Direct-Out-Dial Service, DID Telephone number blocks (586,287,903 which cannot be changed),Business Telephone Service, Foreign Exchange Service, DS1 Facilities, Switched Megabite Data Service, Digital Data Service, Voice Grade off-premise PBX extension, Broadcast video services, directory assistance and operator service, telephone features (call hold, call waiting, call forwarding), Long distance and Intra Lata call access. The proposed contract is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under Authority of FAR 6.302. This is a notice of intent. It is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. All proposals received within 30 days after date of publication of the synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
