59 -- ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS (MEDIUM WAVE ANTENNA) SOL 50153-001 DUE 022197 POC POC Gary Hosford, Contracting Officer, FAX (202) 619-3267 The USIA International Broadcasting Bureau has a requirement for several electronic components necessary to refurbish a medium-wave broadcast antenna array at its Bangkok, Thailand Radio Relay Station. Work includes component fabrication, procurement, and delivery to IBB Headquarters (Washington, DC). Material must be packed and crated as a complete shipment (no partials) and suitable for ocean shipping. There are no installation, on-site supervision, or overseas support services required. Installation of components and sub-assemblies will be performed by in-house labor. The Contractor shall provide the following components: (a) Standard, high-power, radio-frequency (RF) inductors; (b) Special RF isolation inductors; (c) High- current, high-voltage RF jack-and-plug assemblies; (d) Cyclometers for installation on variable capacitor adjustment shafts; (e) Phase-stablilized, foam dielectric coaxial cable, with connectors and grounding kits; (f) Coaxial relays for antenna monitor source selection; (g) One MW antenna monitor and its remote indication panel; and (h) Hardware for use in connecting and/or installing the foregoing components. The period of performance to furnish the above components shall be ninety (90) days after contract award. Pursuant to FAR 13.106- 2(a)(1), vendors are hereby notified that the basis for award will be price and other factors (e.g., past performance and quality). USIA intends to issue a Request For Quotation (RFQ) solicitation for this firm-fixed-price procurement in January 1997 with a contract award date in February 1997. Qualified offerors may request a copy of the RFQ solicitation by submitting a written request to the USIA Contracting Officer at the above listed address. Please reference Requisition No. 50153-001 on all correspondence regarding this notice. All responsible sources may submit a proposal in response to the forthcoming solicitation document, and all proposals shall be considered by the Agency, This is not a RFQ. See Note 1. (0365)
