notice is being prepared to advise the contractor community that
solicitation HQ-96-38 will be released by the Immigration &
Naturalization Service on or about January 7, 1997. The Immigration &
Naturalization Service has a requirement for a contractor to pickup and
deliver large volumes of packages, forms, files and boxes. These items
shall be shipped from various locations throughout the United States,
as well as U.S. Territories. The contractor shall provide INS a
register (meter) computer system with direct line tracking capability.
The contractor's system shall have the capability to trace packages as
well as produce a receipt of delivery confirmation. The proposed
contract will consist of a one-year base performance period with four
one-year options not to exceed 60 months. Firms that responded to the
previous synopsis need not request a copy of the solicitation. New
requests for the solicitation must be submitted in writing. Requests by
