in the CBD, Wednesday April 19, 1995, Number PSA-1328; and Wednesday,
October 26, 1994, PSA-1209, and is hereby modified. The revised
subject/title ``Department of Defense Personnel Services and Support
Program'' is changed to read ``Transition Services and Support
Program.'' The Defense Supply Service-Washington (DSS-W) on behalf of
the Transition Acquisition Branch, (PERSCOM, Alexandria, VA) intends to
issue the final solicitation to continue to provide job assistance
services and transition/outplacement assistance. On May 8, 1995, DSS-W
released a Draft Request For Proposal (DRFP) and requested public
questions and comments on the solicitation. The final RFP incorporates
responses to the public's comments. Upon award, the resulting
contracts will have the capability to perform job assistance,
transition processing, in-service, recruiting (active and reserve),
counseling and transition benefits. The contract approach will provide
the Government the capability toexplore and implement privatization
efforts in the area of personnel support services. Written requests for
the final RFP No. DASWO1-95-0026 should be directed to Defense Supply
Service-Washington, ATTN: Mr. Harry W. Shatto, Jr., 5200 Army Pentagon,
Rm. 1D245, Washington, DC 20310-5200. The final RFP will be
automatically sent to all those who requested the draft RFP. Telephone
Requests will not be honored. The RFP will be considered as notice of
intent to procure services through full and open competition. The RFP
will be released o/a 31 January 1997. DSS-W and the Transition
Acquisition Branch will hold a pre-proposal conference o/a 19 February
1997 (Washington, D.C. Area) to ensure full and complete understanding
of the Government's requirement as expressed in the final RFP. Period
of performance will be for one (1) year with four (4) one-year options.
This will be a multiple award and task order type contract and the
Government anticipates award of more than one (1) task order contract.
