84 -- BLAST PROTECTIVE COMBAT BOOTS SOL W13G07-CBD7-0022 POC Denise Tolliver (508) 233-5446 (Site Code DAAK60) The U.S. Army Natick Research, Development and Engineering Center is conducting Market Research investigation to compile a list of manufacturers who are currently producing and have available or who can produce with a minimal development effort, blas protective combat boots or a blast protective footwear device. The blast protective combat boots or footwear device requirements are as follows: a. Minimum blast protection against antipersonnel mines containing one ounce of tetryl or an equivalent charge b. the design baseline should cover the foot and provide ankle support, c. fabrication of upper section from a breathable, moisture wicking materials, d. sole fabricated with a configuration and material that provides traction equal to the standard combat boot on mud, sand, rocks and other common surfaces traversed by soldiers, e. sizes can be fabricated to fit a range such as the 5th percentile female soldier t the 95th percentile male soldier, and f. the maximum weight of 2.5 pounds per each boot for a size 10 regular. Interested firms must submit within thirty (30) days following the publication of this synopsis, information on their products. This informationshould include at a minimum, any ballistic data or certifications, an item description which details the material descriptions, illustrations with corresponding descriptive information, previously related experience on the development and fabrication of footwear, a list of facilities (locations), and any other specific information which the firm believes demonstrates its capability to meet the requirements and prouce items.
