R -- ONE PUBS POC Christina McCrary, 202-708-9741 The U.S. Department of Education(ED) seeks to procure a contractor to operate a soon to be established One Stop Shop Information and Referral Service Center. The center will disseminate and warehouse publications, press releases, videos, brochures, posters, and other documents for the entire department. Key features of the center will be an 800 line from which customers can request any ED publication, stat of the art inventory system, data base searches, publications storage, effective and cost efficient mail handling, referral capabilities, and maintenance of mailing lists. The emphasis will be palced on One Stop Shopping where most requests would be answered through on telephone call for maximum customer service. The draft work statement will be available through the Internet and the ED Board computer bulletin board on or about January 20, 1997. Printed copies are not available.
