Development and Engineering Center is conducting Market Research of
commercially available individual equipment belt extenders that provide
individual soldier with a 4-inch (approximate) extension for individual
equipmet belt that will enhance capability of adjusting fighting load
when donning and doffing underlayers of bulky clothing or armor. This
new item shall provide a more rapid method of extending the individual
equipment belt without the need to remove ammunitionpouches, canteens,
etc. The extenders will be worn with the two most common buckles
(side-release and front-release) found on the current individual
equipment belts. All interested firms should send literature describing
their item and cost per item. Samples may be furnished but will not be
returned. Samples are not required to respond to this request. This
announcement is open to all potentially valid submittal from interested
commercial contractors, including small business and set-aside
