Nellie M. Powell, (916) 643-3952. Acquisition of Telephone Equipment
and or Services for Installation of Voice Mail Unit. Description of
required features follows: The voice mail system lets you send or
retrieve messages with accuracy from any touch-tone telephone inside or
outside the Defense MEGACENTER (DMC) Sacramento; allows callers to wait
(in the order calls come in) until a busy extension becomes available
or leave a message, or select another option; options of save, repeat,
erase, pause and or resume message, skip message, rewind, date and or
time of call, and volume control upon listening to a message; options
of repeating, saving or erasing a message after listening to it;
allows the person to know he and or she has unheard messages; greetings
can be customized for any time during a 24 hour, 7 day work week
(including after hours, weekends, holidays, etc.); allows outside
callers to leave a message and still be able to get back to an option
menu or dial tone to get another extension; has the capability to
question and record callers responses while the caller is waiting to be
helped; allows each Division and or Branch to have its own type of
greeting (live or recorded); gives the system manager the capability to
run different types of statistical reports; training on the proper use
of the system must be provided for the system manager and personnel;
system must have diagnostic capabilities for problems that arise;
present wiring can be used for the new voice mail system. This is an
"all or none" requirement. Descriptions, quantities, locations are
based on the best available data at the time. Actual solicitation
requirements may differ. An Ombudsman has been established for this
acquisition. The only purpose of the Ombudsman is to receive and
communicate serious concerns from potential offerors when an offeror
prefers not to use established channels to communicate his/her concern
during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. Potential
offerors should use established channels to request information, pose
questions and voice concerns before resorting to use of the Ombudsman.
