to: 1) Welding Repairs, 2) Straighten/Repair Propeller Shaft, 3)
Underwater Body Preservation, 4) Renew Reference Electrode/Cathodic
Anode/Fairing, 5) Ultrasonic Testing, etc. Vessels' homeport is Miami
Beach, FL. Vessels' availabilities are April 21 1997 for USCGC FARALLON
and August 11 1997 for USCGC MATAGORDA, each for 42 days. The places of
performance are unrestricted. There will be a nonrefundable charge of
$100.00 required in the form of a certified check or money order
payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. All other
referenced documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street,
Suite 600, Norfolk, VA. Funds are not presently available for this
procurement. The government's obligation under this solicitation is
contingent upon availability of appropriated funds from which payment
for contractual purposes can be made. The proposed contract listed here
is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program.
Plans and specifications will be issued on or after 17 January 1997.
All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by
the United States coast Guard. This Notice is for informational
purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business
Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and
Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has a program to assist
minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquireshort-term working capital assistance for transportation-related
contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short term Lending Program
(STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000. For further
