THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY (DOE), OAK RIDGE OPERATIONS K-25 SITE REINDUSTRIALIZATION INITIATIVE Is offering a unique opportunity for industry to establish new manufacturing facilities, warehousing and distribution centers for high technology products and services. Over the past 50 years, the DOE's Oak Ridge Operations have served the Nation's national security needs by maintaining a vital role in supporting nuclear weapons programs and supplying enriched uranium for the free world's nuclear power industry. The site covers more than 1,700 acres with 125 buildings offering pristine manufacturing and research facilities. Industrial firms may be interested in exploring the possibility of leasing spaces and facilities to set up manufacturing operations, instrumentation, controls, or fabrication of structural components utilizing advanced metal, ceramic or composite materials technology. Labor supply is excellent in the Knoxville/Oak Ridge area with well trained craftsmen, professional engineers, scientists, and researchers specifically experienced with the equipment and facilities at the K-25 and Y-12 sites.
