DUE 011797 POC Kathy Fields, Contract Specialist (410) 762-6473, Sandra
McKay, Contracting Officer (410) 762-6476. Potential Sources Sought.
The U.S. Coast Guard has a requirement to establish a program for
approximately 172 various Fairbanks Morse/Formerly G.E. Alco Engine
replacement parts for General Electric ALCO, Inc. Model 251 Diesel
Engines on the 210' and 270' WMEC and 400' WAGB Class Coast Guard
Vessels. The form, fit and function of these parts must be exactly
compatible with the end item or system for which it is intended for on
the diesel engines. This is critical to the end item or system
functional characteristics. It is the government's belief that only
Fairbanks Morse/formerly G.E. Alco can provide the required engine
replacement parts. However, other potential sources having the
expertise and required capabilities to provide other than Fairbanks
Morse/formerly G.E. Alco parts can submit information discussing the
same in duplicate within 15 days from the date of this announcement.
The following information must be provided to evaluate the
acceptability of the offered engine parts: 1) complete and current
engineering data to demonstrate the acceptability of the offered engine
parts (i.e. salient physical, functional and serviceability
characteristics, or 2) data that the offered engine parts have been
satisfactorily manufactured for the government or the original
equipment manufacturer. No cost or pricing data is required. This is
not a solicitation. This is a request for information only. This
synopsis is issued pursuant to FAR 5.207(e)(3) and TAM 1205.207. See
