Ferguson, (301)227-4244, Fax 301-227-2218 or Phone 703-808-0952, Fax 703-808-0948 Multiple Task Order contracts (two) were awarded on 14 Jun 96 based on issuance of solicitation number DMA100-95-R-8081 for Consolidated Engineering Support (CES) to the previously designated Defense Mapping Agency (DMA). Both contracts have a combined ceiling of $30M. Based on the myriad of circumstances revolving around the merger of DMA and other Government Agencies into the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) on 1 Oct 96, it has become necessary to increase the estimated maximum combined ceiling of the two contracts by $20M from $30M to $50M. Because the creation of NIMA has created numerous engineering challenges for the future, it has also become necessary to initiate a new procurement which will constitute a follow-on to the CES effort. The new consolidated systems engineering and integration effort will take into consideration all of NIMA's engineering and integration efforts and is currently in the planning stages with an anticipated award date of Jan 98.
