Y -- PREQUALIFICATION OF GENERAL CONTRACTORS FOR THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO SOL 072976-97-A-0074 DUE 021397 POC Donna Johnson,303-220-6538; Bob Heichelbech,Project Manager,303-220-6574 This is a notice of intent to prequalify General Contractors desiring to be placed on prequalified contractor's list for a period of twelve months from notice of prequalification for the construction of new postal facilities and selected remodeling and alteration projects in various locations in New Mexico and may include but not limited to, Roswell, New Mexico -- approximately 36,600 square fee, Hobbs, New Mexico -- approximately 28,700 square feet, North Valley in Albuquerque, New Mexico -- approximately 27,000 square feet, Aztec, New Mexico -- Approximately 14,000 square feet and Alamagordo, New Mexico -- approximately 32,500 square feet. All facility locations will include Postal Service unique features which may include postal retail stores and security measures. Estimated cost range is $500,000 to $4,000,000. Construction starting time is unknown at this time. Primary factors that will be considered are: construction experience, financial stability, bonding capacity, workload capacity and references from past clients. Other factors to be considered are: project management capabilities, company organization, and MBE participation and commitment, as further described in the Prequalification package. Prequalification packages will be evaluated by the Contracting Officer's staff. All firms will be notified within 60 days of receipt of their application as to prequalification status. No fewer than three and a target number of seven of the most highly qualified General Contractors will be placed on the prequalification list. Interested firms that meet the minimum criteria stated above, may obtain a Contractor Prequalification package by contacting Donna Johnson in writing.
