The Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) requires the production of 234 sheave assemblies with a 28 inch pitch diameter. NAWC part number 626857-3 and 234 sheave assemblies with a 33 inch pitch diameter, NAWC part number 627240-1, to support carrier aircraft operations. One sheave assembly consists of one sheave wheel, manufactured using aluminum alloy 7055-T74, and one cylindrical roller-thrust bearing, Torrington Company part number N-3379-A. The Contractor will use Torrington PN-N-3379-A and no substitutes will be allowed. It is required that the respondent have the capability to shrink fit a machined aluminum sheave wheel onto a steel bearing of approximate outside diameter of 19.685 inches. It is also incumbent upon the respondent to possess, or have access to, a press capable of exerting a minimum of 393 long tons.
