COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 13,1997 PSA#1760Alaska Area Native Health Service, Area Div. of Extramural Awards &
Agreements, 250 Gambell Street, Anchorage, AK 99501 65 -- PATIENT MONITOR FOR MRI SOL 243-RFQ-97-0010 DUE 011397 POC
Theresa Smith, (907) 257-1176/1144 FAX/Contracting Officer, Theresa
Smith, (907) 257-1176/1144 FAX. The Alaska Area Native Health Service
intends to procure the following requirements as a sole source
acquisition from Invivo Research Inc, 12601 Research Pkwy, Orlando, FL
32826-3226: 3100 Omnitrak MRI (PMS) Patient Monitoring System with
3112-1 End-Tidal CO2 Analyzer plus Accessories. It is good practice for
all patients undergoing magnetic resonance examinations to be visually
and/or verbally monitored. All patients who are sedated, anesthetized,
or, for whatever reason, unable to communicate readily with the imager
operator and/or accompanying personnel should be physiologically
monitored by appropriate means. This includes physiologic monitoring of
respiration, heart rate, blood pressure, and/or electrocardiographic
output, as clinically indicated. If this monitoring is to be achieved
by electrical and/or mechanical devices, it is important that MR
compatibility (patient safety and performance of the device and the MR
system) be demonstrated by prior testing, manufacture declaration,
and/or clearance by a recognized authorizing body such as the Food and
Drug Administration (FDA). At the present time the Invivo Research
3100 Omnitrak MRI (PMS) Patient Monitoring System with 3112-1 End-Tidal
CO2 Analyzer is the only system of this type that is FDA approved, it
is also the standard of care in the other medical facilities with MRI's
in the Anchorage area. The procedure to be used is Simplified
Acquisition Procedures. The anticipated award and closing date is 13
