Region, pyates@usgs.gov. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) requires
maintenance services for an AT&T G3i3V telephone system capable of
holding 300 telephone lines and presently consisting of 186 active
lines, located in three buildings in Anchorage, Alaska. Maintenance
includes (1) regularly scheduled preventive maintenance; (2) monitoring
the USGS switch via remote computer on a 24-hour, 7-day per week basis
in order to respond to all major alarms for any shutdown within 4
hours (the USGS Alaska Volcano Observatory lightning detection system
switch cannot be down at any time); (3) onsite and remote diagnostics
and corrective maintenance; (4) repair of covered equipment, or
replacement with identical new or AT&T-certified refurbished items or
new AT&T updated items; and (5) installation, removal, and relocation
of station equipment and circuitry. Contractor's technicians must be
certified to work on AT&T equipment. A fixed-price type contract
including up to 10 equipment moves and changes per year is
contemplated. Expected performance period 4/01/97 through 3/31/98 with
4 one-year options to extend the contract for a total of not more than
5 years. All responsible firms may submit a proposal which will be
