E-MAIL: NOAA; MASC Acquisition Management, Joyce.J.Mills@noaa.gov. This
Procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
The National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration requires a High Power
Ferrite Switch. This part is a waveguide switch that is part of ET6's
Ocean Sensing Radar. The specifications are as follows: 1) Frequency:
9.3 to 9.4 Ghz; 2) Peak Power: 200 KW; 3) Average Power: 200 W; 4)
Isolation: 20 dB min; 5) Insertion Loss: 0.6 dB max; 6) VSWR: 1.3:1
max; 7) Switching speed: 10 microsec max; 8) Waveguide: WR 112; 9)
Pressurizable: 20 PSI; 10) Size: must be identical to Raytheon model
SXH37; 11) Control Interface: must be identical to Raytheon model
SXH37. One of the capabilities that makes this radar unique is its
ability to change transmit polarization every time the radar fires. The
high power ferrite switch is the part that allows this. The switch
would need to be received by March 1998. There is no formal RFQ.
Interested sources proposing to supply equivalent units must submit a
written qualification statement clearly establishing capability to meet
the above requirements. In the absence of other qualified sources, it
is the intent of the Government to award a sole source contract to
Raytheon Corporation, Marlboro, Massachusetts. See Note 22, except that
45 days is changed to read 30 days.**** (0009) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0304 19970114\66-0013.SOL)
