The contractor shall be responsible for providing a reverse osmosis and deionization equipment to treat potable water and off-site regeneration services for one year. The Government concept uses reverse osmosis to pretreat the water and then deionization to polish the water, however, other designs will be acceptable if they will result in effluent water which meets the requirements of subparagraph 2.2. of the technical specifications. It is the Governments's intent to use reverse-osmosis treated water at a rate of 5.5 gpm (minimun) for the waste slurry preparation process and 4.5 gpm of reverse-osmosis treated is to b e further treated by deionization for use as a feed stream to the supercritical oxidation reactor. 1 each.
