M -- OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER PRETREATMENT PLANT SOL BEP-97-12(N) DUE 031997 POC Contact Loretta R. Hawley, Contract Specialist, 202/874-3143. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has a requirement for operation and maintenance of an Industrial Wastewater Pretreatment Plant at the Ft. Worth, Texas Facility. The BEP requires treatment of (1) Dalmar wastewater (a caustic solution of sodium hydroxide containing castor oil, intaglio inks and some hydraulic oils from leaks and mineral spirits from cleaning presses), and (2) electroplating wastewater (containing hexavalent chromic acid, copper sulfate and nickel sulfamate in an aqueous solution). Performance is anticipated to begin July 8, 1997. There will be one (1) base year and four (4) one year option periods. The Plant operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays.
