The contract resulting from this solicitation will be a Fixed Price contract for Computer Floor & Carpet Tile Replacement at 8403 Lee Highway Merrifield, VA 22082. The work includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for and incidental to perform the following categories of work: (1) Replacement of carpet on 24"X24" metal access flooring panels, (2) Replacement of 24"X24" concrete filled access floor panels with new floor panels and carpet, (3) Replacement of carpet (broadloom and tile) on concrete slab with new carpet tile, (4) Replacement of carpet in stairs with resilient flooring and treads, (5) Install new carpet tile over existing resilient flooring, (6) Construction of access flooring handicap ramps and railings, (7) Repair to damaged concrete floor surfaces in non access floor areas. The project is to be performed in a three story building occupied by the US Postal Service with extensive computer equipment and furnishings. Work is to be performed both offsite(carpeting replacement panels) and within the facility during off hours (replacement panel installation and non-access floor areas). The contractor will be required to comply with work schedule hours that are defined in the contract documents and complete the work within 100 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. Contractors must have a minimum of two (2) years experience as of the date of issue in construction work of the above type. Offers are due by 2:00 PM on February 17, 1997.
