65 -- CHEF MAPPER XA CHILLER SYSTEMS SOL fsis-9-W-97 DUE 020697 POC Contact Point, Claudia Andrews, (202) 720-9891 The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has a requirement for a data analysis system that is in compliance with the Center for Disease Control-Standardized PFGE method for subtyping Salmonella spp. and E.coli 0157:H7. FSIS intends to award a contract to Bio Rad Laboratories, 2000 Alfred Nobel Dr., Hercules, CA 94547 for a quantity of 4 complete CHEF Mapper XA Chiller Systems. Each system consist of (2) Mitsubishi P68U K65H Paper; (6) CHEF-DRII Sample Mold, 10 plugs; (2) Combination Comb Holders; (2) Wide/Long Combo Casting Stand; (2) 15 Well Comb,8.25 wide,1.5mm; (1) Leveling Table; (1) Gel Scoop; (1) Bio-Rad Fluorescent Ruler; (1) PC Video Board; (1) Agarose, Chromosomal, 100g. Three of the systems will include (1) Data Analysis System-PC3; (1) Pulsed Field Certified Agarose, 500g.; (1) Gel Doc 1000 UV Gel Documentation System;PC,120v; (1) Mitsubishi P68U Video Printer,100/120v; and (1) Mitsubishi P68U Printer Cable. The fourth system will include (1) Data Analysis System-Custom; (20) 230 MB 3.5" Rewritable Magneto Optical Disc; and (1) HP Laserjet 4M Printer. FSIS intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis in accordance with 41 U.S. C. 253(c)(1). Only fully developed commercially available systems shall be considered. All interested concerns must identify their interest in writing and fully document their capability to meet the Agency's requirements by forwarding a detailed response within 15 days of publication of this notice. All proposals from responsible sources will be considered by the Agency. If no affirmative written responses are received within 15 days of publication of this notice to determine that a comparable source is available, or is more advantageous to the Government, negotiations will take place with Bio Rad Laboratories.
