of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for the purchase
of Standard Reference Material 927c-Bovine Serum Albumin Sterile 7%
solution. The contractor shall provide 20,000 ampules prepared
according to specifications set forth in the NCCLS Approved
Standard:ACS-1, Specifications for Standardized Protein Solution
(Bovine Serum Albumin) published by the NCCLS in January, 1979. This
approved standard will be referred to as NCCLS: ASC-1, which will be
available with the solicitation. The contractor shall also include in
this requirement: 1) One unit shall be a flame-sealed glass ampule
containing 2.15 ml to 2.25 ml of the 7% Bovine Serum Albumin Solution;
2) Provide analysis on samples of ampuled lot made for NIST to
include: peptide concentration, absorption curve, pH, protein
impurities (Cellulose Acetate Electrophoresis), sodium, chloride,
sterility; 3) Provide certification to verify that donor cattle were
tested and found negative for Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy, and
free from infectious and contagious diseases; and 4) The contractor
shall label the ampules with labels provided by NIST. Delivery required
Freight on Board (FOB) destination, Gaithersburg, MD. The contractor
shall ship the requirement under refrigeration. Delivery is required 60
days after contract award. All responsible sources may submit a
