km63k@nih.gov. The National Cancer Institute is seeking qualified
offerors to provide support for a study to assess the interactive
effects of genetic and environmental effects on breast cancer risk. The
offeror will work with the Government to interface with an ongoing
extramurally supported case-control study which involves telephone
interviews with over 10,000 subjects with newly diagnosed breast cancer
and a comparable number of comparison subjects in three states
(Wisconsin, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire). The current procurement
will supplement the information collected in that study by focusing on
approximately 2,000 women with a family history of breast cancer or
ovarian cancer and a sample of 1,200 women without any such history.
These women will be visited in their homes in order to collect
additional interview information, take anthropometric measurements, and
obtain biologic samples. The offeror must have experience in conducting
similar epidemiologic studies in mutliple locales. The RFP
N02-CP-71019-50 will be issued approximately 15 days after publication
of this notice. Proposals will be due approximately 30 days after the
