schellhas.hans@epamail.epa.gov. VEHICLE AND ENGINEERING SUPPORT The
Environmental Protection Agency has a need for a contractor to provide
the Office of Air and Radiation, National Vehicle Fuels Emmission
Laboratory, Advanced Technology Support Division, with flexible
engineering support related to vehicles and engines, with efforts
focused on reducing emissions and improving efficiency (to lower carbon
dioxide emissions). Work may include design, fabrication, development
and testing support on vehicles, engines, subsystems, and fuel systems.
All vehicles, engines, and fuel systems required to initiate work will
either be commercially available, developed by the contractor or
furnished by the government. The contractor shall provide all
personnel, materials, services, equipment and facilities to design,
develop, modify, fabricate, calibrate, and perform engineering tasks on
the requisite components. All vehicle, engine, subsystems, and fuel
system components required to perform work will either be commercially
acquired or designed and fabricated by the contractor or furnished by
the Government. The contactor may be required to convert appropriate
equipment to alternate-fuel operation. The Government anticipates the
award of a cost-plus-fixed-fee work assignment type contract with a
twelve-month base term and two(2) twelve month options. The base level
of effort will consist of 9,000 direct labor hours. In addition,
options will be included to increase the level of effort by up to
22,500 direct labor hours during each period. The procurement will be
processed in accordance with FAR 6.1, Full and Open Competition. All
