(805) 982-5443 Vertical Launching System (VLS) Training Services. All
training will be directly related to the operation, maintenance,
repair, installation, and system interface of the Mk 41 Vertical
Launching System. Typical subject areas will include analog and dgital
electronics, hydraulics, corrosion, electronic troubleshooting,
hydraulic crane operation, mechanical and electrical shipboard
installation. The instruction will include both classroom lectures and
hands-on laboratory instruction utilizing military ad commercial
electro-mechanical equipment. The level of instruction will address
operational/intermediate level maintenance and operation of the Mk 41
VLS systems and its subsystems. The contractor will also be responsible
for providing scheduling, operation, and maintenance support for the
Surface Weapons Engineering Facility VLS Launcher and for the operation
and maintenance of a library of approximately 3,000 tecnical manuals.
VLS Program Office mandates that all work on the operation of any VLS
equipment shall be accomplished strictly in accordance with the Safety
and Design Precepts defined in NAVSEAINST 8394.2B. This instruction
states that all contractor personel operating or performing any
unsupervised work on any launcher equipment shall be graduates of
either a US Navy VLS Operations and Maintenance Course or a civilian
Basic ISEA/Field Service Representative course and hold a current VLS
System Maintenance Technician or Test Director Certification. Due to
the fact that some of this effort will need to be performed on
equipment resident at Port Hueneme Divison, Naval Surface Warfare
Center, the awardee must have a facility within one hour commuting time
of our facility. One year with two one year options. Estimated level of
effort per year is 3,585 labor days per year. Each option year requires
that the approimate 500 days of a principal instructor and the 500 days
of a classroom instructor be either a VLS Certified Technical Director
or a certified VLS Systems Maintenance Technician. Federal Supply
