Z -- REBUILD COW ISLAND LEDGE LIGHT, CASCO BAY, ME SOL DTCGG1-97-B-3WK088 DUE 022797 POC Susan Hetrick, Contracting Officer, (401)736-1763, fax (401)736-1704 SOLICITATION NOTICE: The work includes removal of existing steel plating from existing concrete foundation; removal of all deleterious material from existing concrete structure; build new concrete lower foundation around existing structure; install new steel sheetpile concentric to existing structure and offset from existing structure and supported by new lower concrete foundation; fill cavity between new sheetpile and existing structure with new concrete; install two new ladder units onto new sheetpile; remove existing steel spindle light pole and install new Government furnished pipe tower. Existing paint on the steel plating to be removed from the structure is assumed to contain lead based paints. It is assumed that TCLP tests of the paint coated steel in the current condition performed IAW EPA standards would yield exceedingly low lead/steel ratios. Therefore the Government will not hold the contractor accountable for any special disposal considerations. The contractor shall not remove paint from the steel plating prior to disposal. Steel plating shall be at no time exposed to abrasive blasting operations. Contractor shall at all times comply with applicable OSHA standards. Estimated cost of the project is between $25,000 and $100,000. SIC is 1629. Plans and specifications to be available on or about 28 January 1997 and may be obtained from Contracting Officer, CEU Providence, 300 Metro Center Blvd., Warwick, RI 02886, Attn: Susan Hetrick. There is a $20.00 nonrefundable fee for the package. Make checks payable to the U.S. Coast Guard. Only written requests will be accepted. Requests will be honored until supplies are exhausted.
