U.S. Army to determine the existence of sources for the planned effort
described below. Point of contact is Nicole Sullivan, ATTN:
AMSMI-AC-CFHA, Building 4488. The Commander, U.S. Army Missile Command,
Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, as the AMC Executive Agent for the
management of Smart Weapons has been chartered as chairman of the Smart
Weapons/Precision Guided Munitions (SWs/PGMS) short duration document,
and recommend existing and/or emerging technology associated with
Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and Automatic Target Recognition (ATR)
systems. Specific applications are candidates for horizontal
integration with current or planned SWs/PGMS. The SW/PGM TF is
collecting technical and programmatic data on GPS and ATR that have the
potential to increase the effectiveness and lethality of Smart
Weapons/Precision Guided Munitions in close combat, fire support,
aviation, and special operation systems. The TF is also interested in
weapon systems for mobile force ground targets and aircraft, both
helicopters and fixed wing. The TF is interested in receiving
information on any technology that provides the opportunity to be
horizontally integrated into existing weapon systems and developmental
systems in the acquisition cycle after milestone O to improve their
effectiveness. However, the primary interest at the time is systems,
subsystems and components associated with GPS and ATR Systems that have
applicability to bring integrated as part of the delivery munitions or
the delivery platforms. United States and Allied Industry is requested
to provide information, in existing format, that may be of interest to
the U.S. Armed Services in identifying horizontal technology
integration or vertical insertion candidates in the area of GPS and ATR
Systems. Proprietary and classified information will be protected as
denoted with submission. Submit printed material, photographs, video
tapes, etc. properly marked and packaged to Commander, U.S. Army

Alabama 35898-5280. This synopsis is to identify potential sources
only, does not constitute a request for proposal (RFP), and is not to
be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government. The Government
