EPA, as authorized under Section 103 of the Clean Air Act and under their Environmental Technology Verification program, is considering assisting a non-profit or not-for-profit party in organizing, developing, and implementing a pilot program for the verification of air pollution control technology performance and cost. The organization receiving EPA assistance would select and test private sector technologies at the pre-commercial stage of development. They would perform various activities including, but not limited to: selection and prioritization of technology areas for verification; preparation of test protocols; provision of quality assurance procedures; and dissemination of test results in reports or verification statements. A significant amount of collaboration with EPA during the organization and startup of the pilot program is anticipated. Cost sharing by the recipient will be mandatory. EPA will issue request for application no. APPCD 97-1 on or about 1/30/97. Interested parties may obtain a copy of that solicitation by writing to the above address no later than 2/15/97.
