Systems Command intends to conduct a full and open competition for
production of Sparrow Missile Mk 58 Mod 4, Mod 5, and Mod 6 rocket
motors in accordance with a validated Level III technical data package.
Firm requirements are for approximately 300 motors, with a potential
for up to 1000 units, and two options of from 100 to 1000 units per
option which will be priced utilizing an alternate pricing schedule.
This effort will include the qualification of Carboxyl Terminated
PolyButadiene (CTPB) polymer from a new manufacturing source and First
Article Testing of the finished motors. Additional requirements may
include technical data, administrative/financial data, quality,
reliability, system safety, and OPSEC requirements. A written request
for the draft RFP must be immediately mailed or hand carried to the
Naval Air Systems Command, 1421 Jefferson Davis Highway, Attn: Dirk
Robinson (AIR-2.2.3.3.1), JP#1/Room 106, Arlington, VA 22243-5120.
Based on current Navy plans the Level III technical data package and
RFP will be released as a "draft" for a period of three weeks and be
available for mailing or pick-up on approximately 31 January 1997 in
Room 106 of Jefferson Plaza Building #1 at the mailing address above.
Contractor comments on the draft solicitation are requested and may be
used in the formal RFP. A pre-solicitation conference has been
tentatively scheduled on or about 20 February 1997 and the proposal due
date is currently scheduled for 11 April 1997. The single Government
point-of-contact for this procurement is Mr. Dirk Robinson and all

Prospective offerors should contact Mr. Robinson on 28 or 29 January
1997 to confirm solicitation availability on 31 January 1997. Small and
