66 -- C-IMAGING SYSTEM AND RELATED COMPONENTS FOR USE WITH EXISTING DEDICATED LABORATORY EQUIPMENT OLYMPUS AX70 AND IX70 MICROSCOPES POC Brenda Goodwin, (304) 285-5882/Contracting Officer, Rex S. Wolfe, (304) 285-5883. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, Morgantown, WV plans to enter into a sole source procurement with B&B Microscopes, P.O. Box 30, Northgate Drive, Warrendale, PA 15086, to purchase their C-Imaging 1280 System, IAC1280R/3CP/CC for use with Olympus AX70 and IX70 microscopes which were purchased from a mandatory GSA contract. The system contains software to control the Olympus AX motorized parts (windows); is capable of performing 60 images/second single wavelength and 5 ratios/second; is capable of supporting the Dage 81c camera at 1024x1024, 15 frames/second (8 bit grey/24 bit color); capable of 100MIPS processing speed for real-time image processing. The previous items are believed to be exclusive to the C-Imaging package. Additional capabilities and functions are the following: Able to acquire and display 1K x 1K in full resolution (B&W and Color); 1280x1020 display, able to display on this ratio montages and graphs; Montage is interactive; Simple software true 32 bit under Windows 95; Window 32 window and leveling; Live image subtraction; Real time signal average; Capable of capture/display/analysis 1K x 1K mono/24 bit color using hardware, not software (much faster); and Capable of 1K x 1K image process functions (for example, Laplacian filter in less than 90 ms). This system will maximize the possibility for any future applications at the Morgantown facility without the purchase of any extra components of new equipment. Specifications, plans or drawings relating to the procurement are incomplete or not available and cannot be furnished by the government. The proposed contract action is under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). Justification: Supplies or services are available from only one source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, FAR 6.302-1. Firms that recognize and can produce the required item described above are encouraged to identify themselves to the Contracting Officer and provide supporting evidence to the Contracting Officer that will permit their participation in the current or future solicitations.
