Darian, Contracting Officer, (314) 539-3827 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented, with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, a written solicitation will not be issued, therefore, this synopsis shall serve as a Request for Quotations, numbered PSMD-97-C-01 which seeks proposals based on the information contained in this synopsis. This synopsis and incorporated provisions/clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-42. the SIC code for this procurement is 3571. It is the Government's intent to purchase 11 bundles of the following equipment/services: Ascentia Laptop Bundle. Each bundle to be purchased contains 1 each of the following: AST Ascentia J P55/133 MHZ Active SVGA with 1 GB HDD and 8 MB RAM, 8 MB RAM upgrade, internal 33.6 data/fax modem, PCMCIA 10 Base T Network Adapter for Ascentia, Printshare PC Connection, Printshare Printer Connection, Cable for PC/Printer 100 ft, Mannesman Tally Mobilewriter-PS 120V + Cable, including warranty (extended 5 year warranty on printer), 5 pack Mobilewriter Ribbons, Carrying case for AST Ascentia Notebook and Printer. The initial laptop bundle shall be forwarded to Rural Development for testing prior to the issuance of the other 10 bundles to allow Rural Development personnel to integrate/install all of the hardware/software from the contractor and Government-furnished software including MS Office Pro, FPProt Anti-virus, Network and DLOS UniFi Software. The contractor shall be provided the integration configuration within 5 workdays to load onto the laptops prior to issuance of the bundle. Delivery of the remaining 10 bundles shall be complete within 60 days after the configuration has been received by the contractor. This acquisition will be processed using the Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This requirement is for "brand name" listed only due to the need of consistency to the existing laptop bundles now being used and the utilization of existing configurations. Offers received for an equal product will not be considered. Responses shall be submitted no later than 15 calendar days after the publication date of this notice to be considered. Responses to this notice will be considered for award to the responsible offeror submitting the lowest overall cost to the government. Equipment shall be delivered to USDA, Rural Development, 1520 Market Street, St. Louis, Missouri 63103, Attn: Brenda Dinges, FC-46. The following provisions/clauses apply to this acquisition FAR 52.212-1, Instruction to Offerors- Commercial (Oct. 1995), 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications- Commercial Items (Mar 1996), 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items (Oct. 1995). The small business standard is under SIC code 3571 is 1,000 or less employees. This solicitation is being modified to correct the model number and other variables of the equipment. This changes it from : AST Ascentia JP54/100 Active SVGA with 800 MB HDD, to: AST Ascentia JP55/133 MHZ Active SVGA with 1 GB. Modification also changes the warranty on printer to an extended 5 year warranty. Offers shall be submitted based on this synopsis within 15 calendar days after this modification is published.
