Thermo-mechanical mixer/extruder technical support services for U.S.
ARDEC. POC James Huff Contract Specialist (201) 724-4165 or Eileen
Heider, Project Engineer (201) 724-3637. The Armament Engineering
Directorate (AMSTA-AR-AES) is seeking sources with extensive personnel
to develop a comprehensive technology base to have a detailed
understanding of the behavior of the material and the thermo-mechanical
history of advanced explosive formulations in a personnel with
knowledgeable backgrounds that demonstrate in-depth experience e wi the
requisite disciples needed to provide the designated servers. Document
technical proficiency by citing personnel authorship of technical
articles and technical accomplishments/contracts with industry and
government. The services anticipated for this proposed contract are
required to perform the following tests: 1. On-line and off-line
rheological behavior of simulant and explosive formulations. 2.
Quantitatively determine thedegree of mixedness of the highly filled
suspensions. 3. Mathematical modeling of the twin screw mixer/extruder
that uses Finite Element Method. 4. Characterize raw materials to
determine extreme conditions that may be produced in the
mixer/extruder. A multi-year award is contemplated and ARDEC reserves
the right to award one or more contracts. Funds budgeted for these
services range between $25,000 and $2,999,000. Interested firms must
respond with a written statement of the firms abilities to perform the
above services. A firm may respond to one of more of the four (4)
areas listed above. A separate statement of the firms capabilities in
each service area is desirable but not essential. Those firms
responding to this announcement by providing acceptable information
will be used to establish a source list for a future solicitation. All
interested firms regardless of size are encouraged to respond to this
announcement. If a company is a small business it should state its
status in its written response to this synopsis. Responses are not to
exceed ten (10) pages. This synopsis is for information and planning
purposes only, it does not constitute a solicitation for bid or
proposals and it is not be construed as a commitment by ARDEC.
Responses must be received within 21 days of this notice. Facsimile
responses are not acceptable. No further announcement of solicitation
notices will be published with regard to these requested services so
all interested parties are urged to respond. Responses shall be
