announcement that was published in the CBD on 15 January 1996. The
synopsis was erroneously published under category 70. The Naval
Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport, in Newport, RI intends to
award a Firm Fixed Price Contract on a 100% Small Business Set-Aside
basis for the Removal of all Flourescent Lights and PCB Ballasts from
Division, Newport. Award of a one year contract, with options for two
additional years is contemplated. Services are to be per formed in the
following manner: LOT 1, FLOURESCENT LIGHTS: Contractor shall remove
and recycle Flourescent light tubes picked up from NUWCDIVNPT. Pickups
will be of a minimum of 50 boxes of light tubes per trip. A fifteen
calendar day response time is required after notification. No maximum
quantity. Estimated yearly quantity of lights in a one-year period: 600
boxes. 530 four-foot boxes (32/box), 52 eight-foot boxes (32/box), 250
each U-shaped lamps, 250 each sodium/mercury vapor lamps, and 500 eac
h high intensity discharge lamps. Contractor shall provide 4-foot and
8-foot lamp boxes on request (estimated 20 each). LOT 2, PCB BALLASTS:
Contractor shall pick up a minimum of one 55 gallon drum of ballasts
(approximately 700 pounds) within 30 calendar days of notification. No
maximum quantity per pickup. Approximate yearly quantity is 15,000
pounds of ballasts. The following requirements apply to both lots:
Contractor shall furnish all labor and materials required to properly
transport the lights and ballasts. Contractor will comply with all
federal, state, and local regulations applicable to the transportation
and disposal of flourescent light tubes and PCB's. LOT 1, FLOURESCENT
LIGHTS: Contractor shall load conveyance. LOT 2, PCB BALLASTS:
Government shall tailgate load the contractor's conveyance. In both
cases, the contractor shall provide Certificates of Disposal and/or
Certificates of Recycling to the Government. This announcement serves
as the full solicitation document. Any company that is interested in
submitting an offer is invited to do so prior to the closing date
listed above. Offers must be accompanied by technical and cost data
which illustrate ability to provide the necessary services. Technical
Data consists of prior experience in similar contracts, contract
numbers, and if possible, points of contact at sites of previous
performance. The Government may Award by Lot, if it is in the best
interest of NUWC. Offers may be submitted by lot, but should be based
on the estimated yearly quantity of material to be removed and
recycled. Offers should be based on a one-year contract, with options
for two additional years. Applicable SIC Code: 5093. Facsimile
