CBD SPECIAL NOTICES:DEFENSE INDUSTRY: This announcement is for The Headquarters United States Air Force Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratories (PMEL) Industry Day hosted by the Dynamics Research Corporation (DRC). The conference theme, "The Privatization of Air Force PMELs" is intended to open discussions with private industry in an effort to determine private sector's capability and capacity to assume the calibration of all Air Force Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipments (TMDE). Companies with interest are cordially invited to attend and/or deliver presentations reflecting better processes they may have for the Air Force to consider. Traditional marketing presentations are discouraged. HQ USAF and DRC will dedicate two days to this endeavor and are very interested in the industry ideas on how the Air Force can partner with industry to determine the best way to gain greater efficiency and cost savings in the future. The conference will be held on February 19-20, 1997 at the Chamberlin Hotel (Old Point Comfort, Fort Monroe, Virginia). Ltc Fedder (HQ USAF) and Mr.Dale Weeks (DRC) will make opening remarks. DRC will then discuss its analysis of AF PMELs and recommended outsourcing and regionalization plan, which will be followed by a Q&A session. The The remainder of the day is reserved for working groups for any interested party. The topic for discussion will be released at a later date. The next day will begin with presentations from the working groups followed by a Q&A session. The afternoon is reserved exclusively for industry to continue dialogue on a "one on one" basis with Air Force personnel in an effort to better develop an understanding of the private sector's potential in the TMDE calibration market.
